Friday Morning Metta
Community meditation circle for lovingkindness.
Join me for this ongoing unfacilitated gathering of folks from my N. Portland community. We gather simply to be together and to practice lovingkindess ((metta)) meditation.
What to Expect
We begin each circle with a check-in, followed by a reading or a song if anyone has brought one to share that day. Then we sit for 30 minutes in silent meditation. During these 30 minutes, you are encouraged to listen to your body. Stillness is not required. You are free to move, breathe, vocalize however your body needs in the moment. A bell chimes, and our silent meditation comes to a close with a spoken version of the lovingkindness prayer for all beings:
May all beings be safe.
May all beings be happy.
May all beings be healthy.
May all beings experience ease of well-Being.
There is time for sharing of reflections, and we often end with a song or ringing of my singing bowl.
Cost
These sessions are offered in the spirit of the ancient tradition of dana, without expectation of payment. If you wish to express your gratitude for the space and the community, all donations are gratefully honored and accepted, though not expected.
