As I enter into a new season in my life and prepare to welcome a new life into the world later this year, one of my intentions is to create β¨spaceβ¨.
Space in my calendar, space in my mind, in my heart, and physical space in the place I spend most of my time these days: home.
Last night I watched #TheMinimalists on Netflix, and one of the questions they ask when clearing space is, βDoes this add value to my life?β While this question keeps my eye on the WHY, I have to admit, I'm intimidated by the idea of getting rid of my belongings. I think about how long it might take, how hard it might be to let go...but then I remember what I've learned about building new habits:
Begin by inviting in the change (new behavior or habit) you want to see.
Take teensy tiny steps, and allow yourself to get your footing and gain traction. These small steps will feel like nothing at first, but give it time. The effects will compound and lead to great and lasting change. (Oh, hey, kaizen!)
Allow the new to slowly take the place of the old.
So, as I prepare to let go of my physical possessions, I am also looking to invite into my life experiences that add value. Experiences like songwriting, painting, long walks, short walks, drawing, writing poetry, singing, spending time with family & friends (even if it's over Facetime), reading, and connecting with my growth communities.
One of the growth communities I'm most excited about is Full Voice. We begin meeting again next week with a whole new group of womxn who are ready to heal and nurture their relationship with their voiceβspoken, written, singing, and inner voice.
If this sounds like an experience that would add value to your life, and you're ready to invite in the new, then we should talk. Schedule a Discovery Call. It's free, and I'll help you get crystal clear about the steps you want to take next.
XOXO
