Earlier this week I posted on my social platforms about how I'm learning to say 'yes' to myself, which means saying 'no' to that which does not serve my wellness or deeper calling.
It's taken me awhile to get to this place.
And, let me tell you, it's a journey in-progress.
Over and over I've heard the message, "You have to take care of yourself...you cannot nurture others if you are empty...you can't save others if you're suffocating..." A bit dramatic, I know, but the essence of what I needed to hear was there. And, yet, I didn't know how to listen. I couldn't even imagine another way of existing other than the path I was on.
I felt stuck.
Even though the work I was doing was meaningful. Even though the people I surrounded myself with were people I loved and cared about—my students, colleagues, friends—it didn't matter, because I wasn't thriving.
I was just surviving.
I was physically and mentally tired.
I didn't find the kind of joy in singing that I longed for.
It was as if I was running all the time and going in circles.
I felt like my voice didn't matter, like I would never be able to use it to make a difference or do any good in the world worth mentioning.
It took meeting a guide (Hey, Lael Petersen!), learning the deep ancient wisdom of so many others who have come before me, and practicing new habits daily for the air to clear and for me to see that another way was possible. And, it's not that my new habits are hard. Sitting in silence, daily movement, mindfully nourishing my body, and soul singing are all easy and enjoyable. So, why wasn't I already doing these things?
Sometimes it takes mentorship and a group of like-minded individuals to get us up off our butt and living in a way that aligns with our values.
That's why I created the Full Voice group. Sure, we could all sing and write and hear our inner wisdom on our own. But, most of us don't. Not without accountability. Not without community. When we step into a dynamic group amazing things happen. Our growth is exponential. We feel the energy and momentum not only of our own growth, but of those around us.
This group is for women who are ready to say ‘yes.’
Yes to nurturing their own voice.
Yes to tending to the needs of their spirit.
Yes to getting unstuck.
If this message meets you where you are in your own journey, then let’s talk. There is space for you in the Full Voice group, which starts back up again January 12.
And, if you’re not sure, but you’re feeling the tug of curiosity, schedule a Discovery Call with me. It’s free, and I’ll help you get clear about where you want to go next.
XOXO
Audrey
